He stood up, brushed off his knees, and fearlessly chose to push his own boundaries, going where only a few would dare. "Zu Asche, zu Staub" (to ashes, to dust), he said out loud, convinced that it is better to regret something you did than something you didn't. With his world crumbling down, he took only the key pieces he needed to start from zero, and began a new journey into unexplored territory. "Zu Asche, zu Staub" was a phrase that had stayed with him since the moment Julian died. It was time for the new-old him to come back to life.

Painted between Amsterdam, Toronto and New York, the series where it all began again: developed intuitively, directly on the canvas, as a personal journey back to the art I loved as a teenager.
