Miss Libby Lumiere | Original Painting

"Bring me your bold, your radiant, your unapologetically queer." Miss Libby Lumiere raises her torch for everyone the world has tried to leave out. Inspired by The New Colossus, the poem by Emma Lazarus engraved at the base of the Statue of Liberty, she reclaims the promise of Liberty and asks who it truly belongs to. Through sharp shapes and vibrant colors, she celebrates the power to be. Because freedom isn't freedom unless it's for all of us.

Shantay, We Will Stay! reimagines historic icons of freedom as bold, defiant drag queens, honoring transgender lives at a time when their existence is under attack. Through sharp shapes and vibrant colors, the series celebrates the power to be, and the strength and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community. They tried to erase us. So I painted us louder.
