Her name is Fatima Hassouna, a Palestinian photojournalist whose work documented civilian life during the Gaza war. She was killed alongside members of her family in an Israeli airstrike on their Gaza City home on April 16, 2025. Her fragmented portrait reflects a reality fractured by war, while her unwavering gaze remains whole: a symbol of the witness who continues to see, record, and preserve. Architectural passages, stairs, clouds, and shifting geometric forms evoke memory, displacement, and the passage between presence and absence. Fatima is ultimately about visibility: the responsibility to remember those whose lives might otherwise become statistics, and the enduring power of images and stories to carry a human life beyond its disappearance.

Social Distortion looks at the distance between how the world sees a person and who that person really is. Through fragmented portraits, architectural passages and shifting planes, the series gives a face to people whose stories are too often reduced to headlines, labels or statistics. The world distorts them. What remains whole is the gaze.
